Yes I know my blogging has been sporadic at best not to mention my blog reading. For the past few months I haven't had a computer. Alright technically I've had one, but it hasn't been working. The Big Giraffe does have a netbook which I can use during the day however, I'm more of an evening computer user. I have a hard time sitting down for more than a few minutes on the computer during the day. I think some of it is that my younger son is short a best friend now that his older brother is in school full day. I spend a lot of time playing with playdough, games etc with him. He may not get all the excitement that my older son gets for being the first to do everything, yes I did debate whether or not both the Big Giraffe and I really needed to go to his preschool parent teacher conference, but he certainly gets to play with me a lot more.
The other part of it is something that I think I've heard from about every SAHM of school aged kids I know. Because you're home, you get asked to do a lot. From PTO to visiting the lonely homebound neighbor twice last week, I've been keeping pretty busy. It's really only at night I'm on the computer and then I've had to share it. Yeah, I know cry me a river. I may be teaching my kids the importance of sharing, but I certainly don't like it when it comes to computers!
Hence yesterday my computer was deemed unfixable and I became the proud owner of a netbook. I actually like it much more than I liked my older computer. I can do everything I did on my computer, it's a lot lighter and it was a lot less expensive than buying a new computer.
A. Elliot's Lesson Learned: Just like how Judy Blume wrote in Forever that it's hard to go backwards, it's hard to go from having your own computer to having to share one.
Professional Mom of two cats, a dog, an ant farm, and oh yeah...two boys: a 5 year old and a 3 year old. Also found in my house is my husband who is known on this blog as The Big Giraffe.
For those of us who didn't get an instruction manual with our babies and for whom parenting hasn't always gone as planned. On a more serious note this blog is about supporting a woman's ability to make her own choices about parenting including the choice, for whatever reason, to bottle feed her babies formula.
YAY! I'm so excited for you! I love getting new gadgets!
