Very thoughtful review. I had not given the authors kudos for not having a pink cover, but you are absolutely correct.
I still loathe the fact that there have to be separate books for boys and girls. I know that you agree with me on this, but it really eliminates the odds that boys will get this book and have the opportunity to learn how to make friendship bracelets and that girls will get the other book and learn how to fly kites or whatever. Kids should just be able to read a book of activities and pick what they like.
Also, it weirds me out that the book for boys is "dangerous" and the one for girls is "daring." I wish both were daring, as I think the idea that boys should do "dangerous" things (none of which are in the book) is disturbing.
Professional Mom of two cats, a dog, an ant farm, and oh yeah...two boys: a 6 year old and a 3 year old. Also found in my house is my husband who is known on this blog as The Big Giraffe.
For those of us who didn't get an instruction manual with our babies and for whom parenting hasn't always gone as planned. On a more serious note this blog is about supporting a woman's ability to make her own choices about parenting including the choice, for whatever reason, to bottle feed her babies formula.
Looks exactly like the Dangerous Book for Boys. Which I loved.
