Last week I had the honor of being tagged by Absolutely Bananas for a meme. Neither of us are exactly sure what the rules are, but they clearly involve providing some biographical info. She's creative and wrote hers in a rhyme. I could attempt to do that, but it would be painful for me to write and even more painful for you to read. My attempt at a picture of the first item in fact #1 did not come out, and a picture of the second item would be even more painful, so just imagine a photo. And here it goes:
- I currently have a broken retainer on my bottom teeth and a wicked, as they say out here, bad sunburn on my back
- My latest food fascination is green olives stuffed with blue cheese
- My hair used to be pretty curly, but since having my first son it's now more wavy than curly
- Even though I grew up outside of Chicago, I was born in MA and lived here for a couple years until we moved to WI. We lived there for a couple years and then moved to IL.
- Despite the fact that my sons have Irish names and we are all fair, we are in fact not at all Irish. I was an exchange student in Northern Ireland the summer between my junior and senior year of high school and really like Irish names.
- I leave you with a real zinger of info: when I was little I had an imaginary identical twin sister named Mary Frances who lived on the other side of the mirror in my room. Since I am right-handed, she is left-handed of course. When I was in college I dated a guy who had a whole imaginary country when he was little. He also had videotapes of his campaign ads against other candidates, including his cat, who beat him in a primary election. (Fortunately he ran as an independent in the general election and won, because who would want your cat running your imaginary country.) Our older son is named after him
Tag to whoever wants to play!
A. Elliot's Lesson Learned: Broken retainers and sunburn do not mix well, particularly for people who are Irish or have the complexion of the Irish.Labels: Blogging Flexibly |
I do like these "play along" memes.
It's funny that my daughter has several imaginary friends (no siblings) and her brothers never, ever did. I guess having a twin means you want some privacy, even if it is in your imagination.
