Invasion of the Body Snatchers

First off, thanks for all the comments you've been leaving! Second, I promised my husband that I would not make fun of the outfit that he wore today in my blog post this evening. (Pause as I try to control my laughter.)

What happened to my sweet older son (OS)? Tonight we went over to a friend's house for dinner. Normally OS is a pretty good eater, particularly at other people's houses. This evening he had a bad case of the "I Wants." I was so embarrassed. Manners were abandoned and replaced with whining and demands. I kept thinking that someone had replaced my son. Nothing would soothe him for long. Even after having a glass of wine to deal with the whine, it still sounded like fingernails on a chalkboard. (I had the wine; he delivered the whine, although I was tempted...)

We got into the car to go home. As soon as we were on the highway, OS let out a loud shriek. Clearly either the body snatchers or a bee had gotten to him. Turns out it the cause was more obvious. My younger son (YS) had the audacity to try and touch OS's construction paper sun on a stick that he had made at camp today. Note that YS did not actually succeed in this attempt.

OS was finally ready for bed, and I began bedtime rituals for YS. As I was removing YS's clothes, I felt something in the pocket of his outfit. Turns out he stolen the letter V magnet from my friend's refrigerator.

A. Elliot's Lesson Learned: The quiet one may not be any more of an angel than the loud one.

They're a team: OS distracts while YS steals.

Looks can be so deceiving. Wonder what got into them yesterday.

Kudos to you on not making fun of hubby's outfit. Don't think I'd have had the restraint. lol

Ahhh the dreaded I wants. It seems that regardless of how much I feed my son before we go to someone else's house he always gets a case of those.

    I get sooo embarassed!

I'm impressed that YS at one year old had the dexterity to remove the magnet and put it in his pocket! Now we all know where OS gets his fashion sense from as we have mental pictures of what the Big Giraffe might be wearing.

Hmmmm what could he be saying with the V?

He wants a vegemite sandwich? He wants to go to Victoria Falls? He likes the Minnesota Vikings and is worried about their chances this fall?
