Home At Last

I finally am back home! I had a lovely couple of days with my parents after the conference (I grew up right outside of Chicago.) My flight home was pretty uneventful with one tiny exception: I was at the wrong terminal. That's right, silly me assumed that if I had flown to Chicago on American Airlines, then I would be returning on American Airlines. I finally realized the error of my ways (or more specifically why the self-service machine was failing to give me my e-ticket) and was able to catch the train to the right terminal. Fortunately, I had plenty of time so it wasn't a problem.

Seeing all three giraffes was wonderful. Of course my younger son (YS) burst out in tears. It was 11 pm. The whole way home my older son (OS) told me what he had been up to these past few days. They brought me a bouquet of flowers (that the Big Giraffe assured me OS picked out especially for me). I also had presents for them. Baseball caps for the boys which were greeted with a look of disappointment, as was the way cool (or now that I am back in New England, wicked cool) dinosaur underwear I got for OS, and Ethel's Chocolates and a copy of Cosmo for the Big Giraffe. What more perfect gifts could a husband, I mean wife, bring? Although he won't admit it, the Big Giraffe loves reading any of the "ladies" magazines. He likes knowing what the magazines are saying about men. This issue of Cosmo was particularly perfect because it has a section called "The Man Manual" for how to handle your man. He has his nose buried in it as I type. They also have a picture of August's Man Without Shirt. No, I swear I'm not making that up. Let's just hope that he doesn't spend too long on that section.

A. Elliot's Lesson Learned: After a long few days of taking care of kids, Cosmo and chocolates are the perfect gift to give your husband.

Welcome back. Glad you had a good trip. I've made that terminal goof as well... more than once I'm sad to say.

I bet having a few days off was quite a luxury.

    Welcome back...what no photos ?

Hey, I'm going to have to try the giving hubby a Cosmo trick. It could prove quite useful.
