My older son (OS) was very impressed with the lava lamp that was in his room at my aunt's house. He had never seen a lava lamp before and to top it off the blobs were purple and pink; two colors that he really likes. He was so intrigued by the lava lamp, that it seemed like every time we were in the room with him, he would talk about it.
OS: Look at the lava lamp. AE: Yes, it's very nice. OS: Don't touch the lava lamp. AE: That's right. Leave the lava lamp alone.
As is typical when you tell a 3.5 (that's right he just turned 3.5) year old not to do something, they do it anyway. Hence, a big crash when OS was supposed to be sleeping followed by a lot of tears. This was apparently followed by more tears as the crash woke up my younger son who was sharing a room with OS (I was eating a fresh doughnut at Krispy Kreme). My husband and uncle rushed up to OS's room to find the lava lamp mysteriously on the floor. Miraculously OS didn't bother the lamp again. Of course that could be because we left the next day!
Ha ha. When you tell most people not to do something, they do it anyway. That is the problem with people. Most of us don't mentally make it out of our toddler years.
Professional Mom of two cats, a dog, an ant farm, and oh yeah...two boys: a 6 year old and a 3 year old. Also found in my house is my husband who is known on this blog as The Big Giraffe.
For those of us who didn't get an instruction manual with our babies and for whom parenting hasn't always gone as planned. On a more serious note this blog is about supporting a woman's ability to make her own choices about parenting including the choice, for whatever reason, to bottle feed her babies formula.
