Happy Birthday to Me

Today I turned 31. An end to my year-long celebration of three decades of excellence! It's the year of a prime number. Another way of looking at it is that it's the third time I've turned 29.

Ever since I was a little kid, I always wanted to be 29. First, whenever I would ask the elderly relatives in my family what age they were they would always say 29 (as in every year it was always their answer). It always seemed like the age to be. As a child I thought by the time I was 29 I would have a fantastic career and at least a husband if not a family. When I did turn 29 (the first time) I had a fantastic husband and son and a career that was in progress. It was a great milestone birthday after all. The birthday I'm really looking forward to is the 5th time I will turn 29 or my 33rd birthday. Do I have a particular accomplishment planned for that year? Nope. I've just always liked numbers that were divisible by 11. I love the same double digit.

Thanks to Suzanne for the birthday wishes she posted on her blog! Thank you also to those of you who wished me a happy birthday! I celebrated it in style today: ice cream sundaes at playgroup with a round of happy birthday sung by the kids and my mom friends, flowers from one of my mom friends, and Friendly's for dinner (by my older son's request). And this post typed on the laptop my husband gave me for my birthday. Can't get much better than that!

    What is it with kids and Friendly's? I mean, it's got to be the ice cream right? Because the food isn't that great.
