De-Squirreled

That’s right! Today was the day I paid big bucks to get de-squirreled. My luxurious pregnancy hair is officially gone from most, but not all spots of my head. As I said in a previous post, this has given me the appearance of having a squirrel on my head. With my younger son’s (YS) baby dedication coming up next weekend, the last thing I want is a Kodak moment of my squirrel-topped head. The new family lovingly looking at each other surrounded by the godparents, yes. The new family lovingly looking at each other surrounded by the godparents and the “squirrel”, no!!!! With that in mind, I decided no matter what the cost, I needed to get it fixed. At the very least I would need to invest in a wig or perhaps a very large straw hat. I marched into the beauty salon and explained my dilemma to the hairdresser who I know for a fact was a teenager. I’m just not sure if she was 13 or 19. I’m guessing on the younger side. Her thoughts on my hair “Oh, yeah it’s pretty bad”. Thanks. Her next comment “You’ll have to wait for all the pregnancy hair to fall out.” However, in the meantime she did give me awesome highlights and a new haircut to disguise the squirrel while pointing out to me that my hair still looks odd. Again, thanks. Talk to me after you’ve had a kid! So although my hair still has a ways to go, while it’s continuing to clog up my sink and shower drain and leaving a trail behind me whenever I walk much like the breadcrumb trail in Hansel and Gretel (if only I could get the birds to swoop in and pick up the hair to make a nest) and William Petersen (maybe not the true him but his character Gil Grissom from CSI) could definitely tell if I’ve been in a room, at least it looks much better than it did this morning. On a positive note, I no longer resemble Michael Dukakis.
